For decades the idea that the Federal Government can mandate to each state what they can do has grown, The concept is that the Federal Government will expand to a size large enough to manage all of the states collectively down to the smallest level .

Politically when people have been told for decades that the Federal Government will and can provide for them, the will of the people to provide for themselves and for others disappears.

There was a time when we had doctors and medical hospitals supported by charity----also called love. In our area those local community hospitals were suddenly bought out by large health associations---------that is when the hospitals ceased being local hospitals.

That's also when the HMO concept came in------which increased the cost and delayed getting to specialist needed to address medical (I don't call them 'health') needs.

I remember well when the company my husband worked for suddenly went the HMO route. That is when the ability to choose a doctor, a physician became complicated. We got a list of doctors who were 'primary care physicians'. They controlled your medical requirements.

If we wanted to go out of network we had to jump through all kinds of hoops to get approval for the physician of choice who understood the physical needs of the patient;----i.e. heart, cancer, genetic diseases as well as the ordinary cold and flu. . And, yes we paid for the insurance on a weekly basis.

Along with another layer of requirements on the medical system, there was population growth and also the need to take care of people who were not immigrants or who had no insurance or little income. The Hospital Emergency rooms is where they went. Or as in the D.C. area-------the local emergency centers----with the word "care" inserted. e.g. Emergency Care Center.

The hospitals that previously received contributions began to have a decline in contributions;------as the hospitals were no longer considered local or funded by local contributions.

The other aspect is he fraud that arose as a result of the insurance requirements including medicare.
We have read about the fraud in Florida for several years now. But whoever read about the fraud by a Muslim doctor in the D.C. area--------that doctor defrauded the insurance companies and defrauded Medicare.
Even represented himself in court after burning the files in his office.

I don't have the answers but what I do believe is that "Obama has been and is on the wrong track" with "Obama Care---or as some refer to it as Obama-non-care."

There is no reason that it should take 2,700 pages to say what needs to be done----just think of all of the money and time which is money that has been spent on designing a 'program, Obamacare." that nobody understands or wants.
