Dear all - great thread. I have not had a chance to look at most of the postings on this thread so I apologize if Iam repeating someone's comment.

There is an interesting Canadian company called Datamirror that provides software which allows large amounts of data to be shifted and converted into different forms. Although they are not offering a direct solution to the 2000 problem many large companies can use their product to manage databases while undergoing the expected transition.

It is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under DMC. Very low liquidity with solid mangement and a solid order book.
