Sure, but you get what you (don't) pay for...
Long MRI lines, long lines to get that cancerous growth removed, long lines for everything - quite often with 2nd rate doctors or medics. All like in Canada :)

That said, no free lunch, the social insurance package incl health is part of the tax.
Only in Germany, where they claim lower taxes, they don't list it as a tax but as a an add-on.
Which in a way is correct as long as you can indeed opt out from it if self employed.

Still an open possibility here in Germany while not being the case in all of EU.
