Well, if its all the same to you, Apple seems convinced and that carries a little more weight with me. I'm quite certain Apple did extensive research on this market and this product, and they have a pretty good track record. You disagree, all we can do at this point is wait and see. Of course I'm prejudiced since I made this call months ago, but I can't help but continue to be impressed with Apple.
You misunderstand me, and I think it's because I wasn't clear enough.

Apple may be making a 7" tablet, and I'm not against their doing so. I have every reason to believe Tim Cook and the rest of the management team know what they're doing, so if they've decided to go ahead with this, I'd support the idea.

I was just saying that your arguments for why they "should" get into that market aren't convincing, for the reasons I stated. Though I disagree with your reasons, there are other reasons that they might decide to produce a 7" tablet.

I'd also have to caution here that Apple has made no announcement about a 7" tablet. So far, these are just rumors. You're assuming the rumors are true. Maybe they are. We don't actually know yet. I don't know for certain that they won't do it, and you don't know for certain that they will.
