tonto, There is nothing in the transportation bill which will lower unemployment. Paul is very confused about this issue.we will just have to see who is correct!

Received this from one of my friends: What has happened to our country????? And, my response!

We have been: (1) globalized, (2) informational technology (robotics, and computers) have taken over, (3) we compete with the rest of the World for energy, (4) our students graduating from our schools do not have the high skill sets required to fill the high skilled jobs which are available, (5) we live in a Pure Capitalistic World were maximizing the profits for stockholders is the purpose of corporation CEO's competing for the low cost provider, (6) green-cards for immigrants with high skilled abilities are only here for a limited time after which they must return to their own country, (7) we have an older population of retired workers who may have limited income which requires additional governmental support (Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps, etc.), (8) we have assumed the role of military protection for the World while the other countries are reducing their military expenditures, and (9) our population birthrate that is out of control creating additional problems and cost.

In summation: We can not provide everything for every other country while neglecting our own US population. Remember, IKE stated, "do not let the military complex get control of the US economy." We can not be all things for all people.
