The major reason for US Robotics to choose Aware as a start for its own C6x development effort was that Amati and US Robotics abandoned a planned deal when they could not reach an agreement acceptable to both companies.

You are correct, scrapps. I don't have any info directly supporting that, I was surmising something from the April 97 posting that you referred to.

I am still wondering how the TI/AMTX buyout affects the Aware-USRX partnershipi. I believe that the Aware/Hayes relationship is now pretty much dead. This view is based on Haye's extensive dealings with Alcatel
