Roger,

BobT and I are both long in Object Design (ODIS) and we have despaired several times at the company's limited participation in trade shows. I have a simple view on this, which is that a company's prospects of generating new leads and new sales at a trade show are vastly greater if it participates in as many ways as possible (seminars, exhibition, advertisement in the brochure etc).

Yes this all costs money, but probably not too much. I run a two-man consulting company, and we participated in a two-day trade show at Darling Harbour (in Sydney) last year. We will do the same next year because it paid off for us.

I hope Mr MacIntyre's motto is "Sell Sell Sell Sell". At the end of the day Selling is what will lead to earnings. As a techie, I know that there's a lot more to running a business than just selling. But if you don't sell, the rest doesn't matter.

I've lost track of the exact nature of this trade show, and maybe this was not the right one for Brock to particpate in. But would you be able to find out how often Brock exhibits at trade shows? Or perhaps there is a reason why Brock emphasises other sales techniques at the expense of trade shows?

TIA for your answer.
