It'll be interesting to see if it ever makes a dime.
There is no chance of it ever making a dime. The Acela running from Boston to DC, through the most densely populated part of the country, loses money on every train. I ride it regularly, and it is always full or close to full, but cannot cover its operating costs. As a passenger, I think it is great, as a taxpayer it sucks.
