By comparison France seems perfect. Did grocery shopping yesterday for 10 people - we are a party of six, incl my mom and nanny, and are hosting successive groups of visiting friends and family. Grocery for three good days came to euro 400, but maybe euro 75 was for three bottles of good wine, and euro 25 was for batteries.

The town doesn't seem to have a lot of people, and we must have seen all when lined up to be served by the local butcher and baker. No one on the streets. The people are friendly and helpful; wife operating in fluent French may be more acceptable.

There is nothing to do here other than reading, playing with and watching the kids play, and checking out other little villages and towns, and doing occular inspections of nationalized / private castles.

Last night we saw some deers ambling across our lawn into the forest. Complete darkness happens at around 10pm local time.

Jack likes to hang out with his sister and her two visiting friends. At not-yet-two, jack spoke another full sentence yesterday,"no body here yet" when finding downstairs empty of life early in the morning. I think it is a complicated sentence even for a two years young.

The girls made lamp shades out of stretched canvas on frame and different colors of oil paint.

I drove to the grocery store 15 km away, and walked to the butcher and baker 2 minutes nearby.
