Very nice. I thought that town might be Blackhawk, but I see you identified it as Silverthorne. Blackhawk is an old mining town, now mining gamblers with deep pockets.

I'm heading up to Whitney on Friday. Just got my permit. Gonna take my time....I am going to do my acclimitization on the mountain. First night will be at 10k feet, second night at 12k feet, summit on third day and then return to 12k for one more night on the mountain before heading back. I'll have the SPOT on. and will post a spotwalla link later. jxm

ohhhhh....lovely! i'm going to be head up to the NW next month....vancouver via bellingham.....can't WAIT for the cool weather... heh....love 'difficult campground'.....are they trying to steer city slickers with no camping skills away? :)
