That is the only solution which actually works, as painful as it will be. All attempts at govt interference will just waste trillions and ultimately fail.

I wish more people understood this. Government interference in economic cycles is what causes the huge swings in amplitude and they tend to prolong the recovery period. Everybody talks about the great stockmarket boom years of the 90s and everybody loved the real estate boom of the 2000s, but they conveniently forget that it was government policies that facilitated those booms and it is government policies that have prolonged the recovery. It's better to just let the markets hit bottom and let a natural recovery take place.

The housing market has been looking for a bottom with money thrown at it. All Romney stated is that it would achieve the same results with less money.
