We also had personal contact when one came to dinner at our daughter's and SIL. He even let all of us try his Segway. It's been a few years, but I believe it was his right leg that he lost. A medic had reached up his thigh and stopped the flow of blood. He held him that way until they got to the hospital. Very brave men... I would have liked to have met the medic too and the driver who made it in time.
