Obama is helped by what the poll shows to be greater personal appeal. Some 63% of voters say Obama seems “like a more friendly and likeable person.” Only 27% say that about Romney.

What’s more, voters who favor Obama do so with greater loyalty. About three-quarters say they are eager or somewhat eager to vote for the President. Just one-third of Romney’s supporters enthusiastically back the candidate. The rest say they are voting against Obama.

Even though the poll shows a tossup, 58% say they believe Obama will win vs. 34% who expect a Romney victory.
