I don't know how the wind turbines fared in the recent storms on the east coast, but a google search will show that many wind turbines around the world have been severely damaged or destroyed in storms.

I consider wind energy to be the least attractive of all of the alternate energy sources. Along with being a blight on the land, they are prone to mechanical failure. And of course, they are not economically feasible without government subsidy.

I thought that the talk about birds killed by wind turbines was overstated. But it appears that the turbines actually attract birds that like to glide. You would think that the blades would be easy to avoid, but this vulture got nailed.
