(OTC/BB:PTSC - news) is pleased to announced that its presence at the COMDEX convention a week ago resulted in significant industry exposure to the company's products and technologies. COMDEX is considered the world premier forum for new technology. The event drew more than 220,000 members of the worldwide technology industry. The week long event exceeded the expectations of the senior management of the company in terms of obtaining market exposure as well as providing a validation of its products and technologies. The firm received more than 500 requests for additional information for the company's PSC1000 Java processor and its high-performance ISDN products for digital communication. Patriot, for the first time, was able to publicly demonstrate the PSC1000 microprocessor running Java on a network computer reference platform built around the company's Java processor. ''The network computer is the perfect vehicle to illustrate the range of capabilities of our microprocessor,'' said Phil Morettini, vice president sales and marketing for Patriot. ''As was shown at COMDEX, the PSC1000 not only is running Java but is available for shipment now. The company has also stated that they have a growing backlog of requests for PSC1000 development boards that will enable prospective customers to do their own testing of the microprocessor. Patriot also announces that their engineers are in the final stages of completing the porting of the new JavaOS1.1. This is Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ:SUNW - news) most recent implementation of the JavaOS that was released on Nov. 11, 1997. This is part of Sun's JavaOS family of products and offers a feature set and architecture that provides the ideal Java environment for network computers to deliver low-cost computing platforms with simplified client-side system administration, significantly reducing the total cost of ownership to users. A low cost, high-performance processor, PSC1000 Java applications include Internet-enabled cell phones, video phones, embedded Web servers, network computers, set-top boxes and a host of new Internet appliances. The microprocessor runs at 100 MHz and sells for under $10 in high volumes. It is available in 5Volt and low-power 3.3Volt versions.
