After looking in the SEC database at various registration statments, it seems that most (all?) registrations are left in the "subject to completion or amendment" stage - even after the shares have been registered and distributed (i.e. there is no S1/A filling that says everything is done). I don't think there's need for any alarm on that basis. Maybe someone else can clarify this.
