If you want to become involved in the TP movement you'd be better off affiliating yourself with one of several organizations (I'd recommend Tea Party Patriots) across the country. This particular organization is set up to lend assistance to people with your kind of agenda. They (TPP) can and will help you organize, set up meetings, fund raise, attract members, advertise etc. They operate under a "501(c)(4)" non profit status.
