Justa,

AMAT split 2 for 1. I believe that this means that the Short Interest was only up marginally for AMAT.

So UTEK would seem to be the hands down winner. A dubious honour I'm sure.

Justa,

Mr. Short may lose his shorts again if he plays this game, especially in 1998.

Thanks for the information about Mr. Short.

RE: "Mr. Short is back ... Total shares short went from 1.679m to 3.439m. With an average daily volume of 963,804 shares this puts days to cover at 3.57 days."

The following site:

quote.yahoo.com

shows the average volume = 617,500, which would be 5.57 days to cover.

Best wishes,

I2

* S/A = Shares Short / Avg Daily Volume;
it may be used as a rough measure of days to cover.

Now, if we add your November figure of 3.5 million shares short to the top of the table, we see quite an explosive trend. Mr. Short may be in for a difficult time, should the price begin to move up from here.

Best wishes,
