If Romney was involved with decisions at Bain after 99 - David Gergen will be called to the mat. Which may well happen, Steve. There's a Huffington story making the rounds today--I haven't read it yet so don't have the url but will have it later this afternoon--that Romney swore, publicly, in 2003 that he had been involved with Bain all along because he needed to establish Mass residency for his gubernatorial run. This part of the story now fits with "Romney will say anything" meme.
