They should be approximately the same except there are balance sheet and income statement differences. Carriers want a better balance sheet, but the cash flow looks about the same until a user keeps a phone for 30 months, 36 months, etc. Once again, I might not have stated all the terms.

The difference would be if it was no contract, and you could shop for the cheapest prepay deal.
