There are no guarantees anyone can give that a president can create jobs. Because governments don't create jobs, businesses do. But a competent government can create an environment in which businesses can thrive rather than fail. To be absolutely truthful, I cannot think of a person more qualified to turn around the economy than Romney. The man has considerable experience at taking bad financial situations, analyzing them, and turning them around. That is a very rare talent. He's proven he can do it multiple times, unlike any SOB in Washington DC today. What we do know is that the policy of Barack Obama has made the economy worse, not better. It isn't government's job to retrain workers. That's on the workers. But it is on government that every iPhone, iPad, and iPod ever made was made somewhere besides the United States. Steve Jobs flatly told Barack Obama, TO HIS FACE, that he would be a one-term president because he is doing NOTHING to create an environment where American companies would use American labor. It would be a simple thing to go to America's biggest corporate employers -- from Apple to Walmart, and say to them -- "What would it take to get you to use American labor?" Tax Credits? Fine. Reduced administrative burden? Fine. A "problem resolution program" (which was exceptionally successful for IRS 20 years ago) which will assure you a solution within 30 days? We can do that. Romney is a smart man. Smarter than Barack Obama by a mile. And he is a proven administrator who can get things done. Barack Obama's biggest failing is he never had administrative experience. Sarah Palin was far more qualified to become president for that reason alone than Barack Obama ever will be. I may not like everything about Romney. But there is absolute zero chance that he won't be orders of magnitude better than Obama when it comes to economic issues.
