Interesting, but unlikely. I would wager they are buying a fraction fewer US treasuries (they really don't have a lot of choice when sitting on piles of trade surplus US dollar reserves) and buying gold. China has taken this a lot further by also buying and stockpiling all sorts of commodities like copper, coal, iron ore etc. There has been de stocking over the last quarter and when buying picks up again, I expect commodity prices will go up and the US dollar will go down......rinse and repeat:-)
