The survey methodology was flawed.
Results for the scientist survey are based on 2,533 online interviews conducted from May 1 to June 14, 2009 with members of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS),
All scientists aren't members of the AAAS. The AAAS is considered by conservative scientists to have a leftist slant and are less likely to maintain a membership. The 94% number is probably a bit high.
