When isn't there manipulation going on in the stock market?

Given the fact Nokia is the second most shorted European stock right now, I'd expect those 13.2% float shorts to flex some manipulation muscle. Would you not?

Elop better flex his, on Thursday, or those very happy shorts will be even happier campers.

Short interest surged in the last month ahead of earnings to an all time high of 13.2% of shares, as the company has seen its share of the Smartphone market slashed and investors questioning how the company can respond to competition from dominant providers like Apple.

Speaking of manipulation, I checked out the short figures here in the US.

Seems to me, the short interest was actually quite "normal", two weeks ago. Lots of the shorts already covered, in March and April:

So, I'd say there is not much reason to get excited about the short position, either.

Back to waiting for my Nokia 808 to arrive today, and for Thursday's "Jerry Springer" Elop episode.

They must be looking at the same NOK charts I am.

But, NOK1V is slightly green now, and so is NOK in pre-market.
