Rod, I doubt whether eSuite has any relevance to Applix.
Nor the NC. At this stage I'll reserve judgement on a pure-java
useability but this is far removed from Applix-relevant issues. Applix is basically the one product, mostly based around a server-based data access. Java is used as interface tool to this. Maybe other things are included that may provide functionality similar to the office-packs, however I suspect it is used more as a sweetener rather than a main product.
Lotus has been transformed from a struggling company to a struggling division with a bigger marketing department. For IBMers
it may be the cat's pajamas, but it isn't helping the top line growth, much.

As to Applix price, this is the fate of most companies with high volume high price at begin of year that get smacked down. The stock is being used as losses to balance tax bite of portfolios, and will be relentlessly sold for that purpose - 38% of the loss is taken by Uncle Sam. At some point it should find "a level" even against this market,
at its lows it was generally available at about 4 1/4-1/2. If it maintains 5 well into December that may be the low.
