The account can be opened for no money.
To use the account you need to transfer in cash or securities totalling $2000. Most of us are transferring from Farsight so the NDB account would be funded from that assuming we have that much currently in our Farsight accounts. If this is a problem for several of us here, email me and we will look at alternate solutions.
