I don't see where there's anything to figure out in light of the comments made last week by the ever-exuberant CEO: "Profits will be elusive.". The fact is, we have to take the square root of his volume and revenue estimates and square his time-to-market estimates. Now that he has put his toe in the water of negative commentary for the first time in recent memory, there's no reason to expect anything but the worst. The CEO has made that statement publicly and emphatically and there's no reason to doubt him save some perverse symmetry: rosy outlook = major loss; dismal outlook = major profit.
