Chris, Ancor's burn rate is a lot less than 3 million. They had
a lot of non-recurring charges and expenses in the 3rd quarter. They
also said in the conference call that are looking at raising more
money and that their business is very fundable.

As far as insider buying, wait until the period after the conference
call is reported on before making drawing any conclusions. We should know
in the next couple of weeks.

Remember, the Fibre Channel switch market is not going to really
take off until 1998. Ancors 3.4M in 3rd qtr sales (which annualizes to 13.6M)
is still respectable this early in the game. We are only in the
top of the first inning in a nine inning game.

I look at my Ancor stock which has a market cap of less than $70M
and see their sales not taking off until next year. That seems
like a long time to wait but I compare that to some of the bio-tech
stocks that I own. Some of them have market caps in the hundreds
of millions and won't have any sales for at least 4 or 5 years.

Just my 2 cents worth.
Have a great Thanksgiving everybody!!

Steve

Chris,

It only seems appropriate on Thanksgiving that owning this stock (at this point anyway) amounts to having a lot of faith.

Roger (just waiting like everyone else)

<<I still see articles of the great FC market but none talk of switches
nor of ANCR.>>

You obviously haven't read very many FC articles lately. Many of the articles talking about FC switches and Ancor have been posted on this thread in the past 3 months.

<< Has anyone figured out how ANCR will have the cash to
survive long enough for this great surge in the FC switch market.>>

Ancor made no secret of the need for additional capital in their last conference call and they are moving forward with their options. Most likely scenerio is 2 rounds of financing: 1) short term funds to bridge to second half 98 2) a larger amount of more funds to finance OEM ramp-up in second half, presumably with an OEM contract in hand and at a higher/double digit price to minimize dilution.

<< Why has Brocade received some VC dollars? Talking to the company doesn't give you an answer (I've tried).>>

Do you have specific evidence of this and what is your source besides the Internet? Assuming it's true, how many rounds of financing has Broke-Ade had since its inception and what are the total dollars raised? Why hasn't Broke-Ade already gone public since it is purportedly the "dominant" FC switch leader??? Why don't you call Broke-Ade yourself and give this thread some answers???

<< Stories of selling 1 switch to an oil company doesn't give you enough cash to survive when you have 4 mil in the bank and you burn 3 mil a quarter. Wake up people. Put the pom poms down and stop being cheerleaders and force the company to give us some
answers.>>

What makes you think it was just one switch? Do you think the press release was aimed at the investment community or perhaps other potential end users in the oil patch? My info suggests that Amoco is indeed more than one switch/location and the potential for expanding to other Amoco locations in 1998. What does your info say?

Time for you to hit the books again. By definition,if quarterly expenses are running at $3 million, then "cash burn" would be $3 million only if revenues/gross margins were ZERO. Accounting 101 "Chris" .

Wake up PlaneLane.

PS - Why is it that you only recently post on the ANCR thread when you supposedly have little financial interest remaining in ANCR? Is this the only stock that you own? Are there other great investment/trading plays that you have great objective data on and where there are no pom poms? I would like to know what other threads I can find your great research on. Looking forward to your ideas.
