Now that we know how S. Korea was built: without fostering local content and expertise in highly-technical areas, places like Norway, Switzerland and South Korea would never be what they are today.

Absolutely right conclusion by Ms Foster - without fostering local content and expertise in highly-technical areas, places like Norway, Switzerland and South Korea would never be what they are today.

Petrobras stays loyal to Brazil’s ideals

Petrobrás is already the most advanced deepwater oil company in the world, and Brazilian shipbuilders are FINALLY delivering again after decades of ostracism (in the 70s, the Brazilian shipbuilding industry was among the world's top 3).

And the criticism displayed by ignorant Credit Suisse analysts on tanker costs is totally ridiculous, as if Brazil were a sweatshop like China, with rock-bottom salaries and nonexistent welfare safety nets.

Alas, the only ones protesting are the eternal Brazilian mongrel dogs among us who can NEVER find anything positive with their own country.

Keep it up, Petrobrás.
