Mine is 5500 (6500 peak), and is 110 or 220.

I'm surprised the 2KW won't run the microwave .. most (full size) microwaves are only around 1000 or 1100 watts?

I can run the microwave with mine as long as I don't have too much already on or it causes a bit of a 'brownout'.

A 5K would be pretty big for lugging around camping, but it could probably be mounted somewhere and just hard wired in.

When I lived in the Congo, we had generators for every embassy residence. I don't know the rating, but it was powered by a Caterpillar diesel engine, and I could run my whole house including 6 220v window type AC units .. in addition to the TV, two freezers, microwave, and lights everywhere. They were wired to come on automatically when the city power was out, which was very often. They were in use so much, we had 250 gallon diesel tanks for each one. Things sounded like a bulldozer running, outside standing nearby. They were in their own concrete block structures, though, and one could hardly hear them inside the house.

My neighbor has one that kicks in when the power goes off. Whole house. It didn't kick out when the power came back on and fried all their wiring.
