"funny people in the south like blacks as individuals, not as a group and have black friends

people in the north like blacks as a group but not as individuals and they don't have black friends"

I was told that about 40 years ago by a southerner while I was stationed in the Navy in the south. I observed that to be generally true.

"so who's the racist."

Clearly you are...I just don't understand why you evade the term.....

This is a sweeping generalization....

I live in the NE and I have nothing against blacks as a group.....and I have a bunch of black friends.....in fact one of our neighbors is among that group.....what I see is this.....this lightweight doofus the people elected as POTUS has raised racial tensions rather than lowering them....I have never seen the racial animus so prevalent and so open and near the surface.
