<It is always good to know what everyone else is thinking.. > How do we know those comments were not just made up by the journalists, or edited so much that it was the same thing? And would you really call it thinking when none of them got the most important fact? They did interview somebody but that could be anybody, scripted to say anything.

Journalists are scientifically illiterate and innumerate. Some of them would put astrology in the category "science" or "astronomy" rather than "stupid mystical mumbo jumbo".

Young women do better than young men for one main reason, which is adult brain development timetable, which is about 3 years earlier. There are other reasons, just as global temperatures are mainly controlled by water cycles in plants, clouds, snow and as vapour, but there are other reasons it gets hotter and colder, such as CO2.

Of course in Taleban country, women don't do well at school because they are not allowed in school. In China they were married off young to have babies and education was not important for women. Same thing in most countries. So it's not that puberty age is the only thing that matters.

It's silly that such things are such big deal "news". Perhaps people were actually surprised to find that women can think somewhat. Some women anyway. So they think it's big news.
