Yours is a pretty cool story too. I find the stories about grandparents and great grandparents the most interesting mainly because of the incredible era in which they lived. Not that we aren't experiencing some pretty amazing times ourselves. I would guess our great grand children will love our stories too.

And lol about banks. I wasn't there, but my mother told me about all of the Silver Dollars she and her brother, my uncle found stashed all over the house after my grandmother died. Grandpa used to give us silver dollars when we'd help him with a chore. He'd tell us not to tell grandma so we would giggle and agree. I sure wish I still had all of those silver dollars.........they must be worth more than just a dollar?

Your story reminds me of the year we lived with my Grandparents on their ranch.....I was six and curious about everything on that place!
