We paid 40% french tax on attributable compensation to have the filipino nanny accompany jack during the summer break, assuming a 35 hours work week for three weeks at euro 9.22 per hour. Had we failed to pay, it would be problematic to 'sponsor' accompanying nanny in the future. The payment was done by an on-line registration system, and so the system must be 'popular'.

The French apparently think that taxing nannies would somehow help them to maintain their empire. My guess is that the minute the French stop subsidizing Tahiti, bora bora be independent.
