You want the things you want just like republicans want the things they want. AND, none of these issues you mention address the real problem; demographics! You want it to go back to the way it was maybe - but as fewer young people are in the work force supporting an ever larger portion of retired baby boomers all living longer and sucking up an ever larger medical bill we just can't go back.
