We watched "The Big Country" tonight on TV and the scenery was magnificent and the little towns that were portrayed looked so sweet and simple. I turned to hubby and told him we should go look for a simple town where life is slow and cares are few. I never did live on a farm but I got to spend a whole summer on one when I was 8 yrs old. The family I stayed with was big...........6 kids..........and good people. I never had so much fun as I did that summer. Ever since, I've had this romantic idea about rural life on a farm, but now that I'm an adult I realize it is just a silly notion. I didn't have to do all the work the mother and father did, so for me it was easy. I now realize it would be more work than I want to contemplate, but if I were a younger woman and I had it all to do over again, I think I'd want to live on a farm.
