>I don't speak for everyone here, but where I come from on raising taxes is where are the taxes going now?

>Where did TARP, and the stimulus monies go? Even Obama was caught saying those "shovel ready" jobs weren't shovel ready.

Plenty of them were.

>They all went to wallstreet, the bankers, "investments" into democrat supporters' pockets, and local and state governments to fill their own pockets.

TARP saved the world economy. I didn't like it, but it admittedly worked as a temporary fix and was better than nothing. Plenty of stimulus went to Republican states, and yes, the stimulus was DESIGNED to go in part to state and local governments, which cannot operate at a deficit but still need to keep the lights on, schools open, streets safe, and fires fought.

>And you want me to give more to be passed out?

Yes. And me too.

>We're at record poverty, food stamps, welfare levels, piss poor schools, infrastructure IS falling apart.

Because we're not doing enough. We COULD save more jobs, we COULD improve our schools, we COULD improve our infrastructure. But your side of the aisle has absolutely no interest in that.

But thanks to a moderate increase by the Democrats, 30 million people who did not have health insurance will have health insurance. That's money very well spent. War, not so much. But we've always had to take the good with the bad. I'll just give the most support to the people who want to do the least bad and the most good. At this moment in time, Republicans want to do basically all bad and no good. I'll take half a loaf rather than none at all, as I've pretty much never seen us get the whole loaf.

>I'll be damned of I give the current crop of embezzlers in power more of my money.

A pox on all their houses, I guess. That attitude is screwing our country.

>Z, at least look at where what is going on instead of feeling good about the rhetoric they are feeding you about if you would ONLY give a little bit more, everything would be alright.

Who the heck is feeding me that rhetoric? Not even the Dems are trying to let my Bush tax cut expire. It seems like they will, because the Republicans are giving them an all or nothing choice, I WISH I were getting fed that rhetoric. Instead, I'm left to do my own math or listen to people like Paul Krugman, whom nobody with any power seems to even bother to listen to.
