Unfortunately, that's absolutely true. And most of your Republican officials agreed with that in 2008, including Bush and McCain. I've said this a zillion times, but our banking system was (and remains) so top-heavy that the collapse of any one of the mega-banks, let alone multiple ones, can bring this country to its knees by shutting down the credit markets... we should have propped up the banks just long enough to dismantle them. Granted, there are plenty of Democrats, including ones that this administration appointed, like Summers and Geithner, that don't agree with me. And in this case, they're idiots. But remember that Paulson and Bernanke were holdovers from the Bush era. Also idiots. But Warren is not one of those. If she'd had her way, the banks would have been broken up. And they still would today. zerohedge.com "My view is any institution that is Too Big To Fail is one that distorts the economy and ultimately is very costly to all of us." From the same article, she also said this, which is absolutely true: "The middle class became a resource to be pulled from - "the turkey at the thanksgiving dinner" - the middle class has gotten shakier and shakier, it has become hollowed out. The middle class makes us who we are. The middle class gives us political stability . It is safe to walk our streets because we have a middle class. And every time we hollow [the middle class] out we take the risk that something of what we know as America begins to die. That's what scares me." Romney is one of those who has helped dismantle the middle class. I'm not in love with Obama (when I say he's the best President we've had in a long time, I'm doing so knowing that's not a very high bar to hurdle; I don't like any of them since probably Lincoln, except I waffle on FDR), but he's a better protector of the middle class from people like Romney than, well, Romney. Once again, not saying much... >The more I think about it, if democrats are given another blank check this fall, I should retire, take this free healthcare that isn't free and hold my hand out with the rest of the democrat voters. Yeah, go Galt. -Z
