It's actually an excellent idea, it's also one of those ideas neither side would vote for. Which might mean during this election, it'd be an EXCELLENT bill to put up as a Democrat! Make the (R)'s vote to keep their taxes secret!

I'm not a fan, though, of the Dems' silly game of pushing through a bill trying to make the Presidential candidates reveal their tax forms. It's just a nuisance. I mean, if they want to do it, they can do it after November, but not right now.
