The 7% revision just seems to be an adjustment relative to the USDA estimates from July 11,which were down 12% already. If you add this up, the US corn production forecast is down ~18% total. I think this is quite substantial.

its interesting you mention that! When i wrote to EKS yesterday, i stated that by US govt. count, corn should be fine and they have still not reduced their estimates for ethanol and stuff. It was interesting for me to read that.

i will check out the price charts. And thats why i was suggesting to play these things on a secondary level, meaning people who raise animals on corn feed or do eggs, bcs if there is a lot of volatility, these guys are going to get affected no matter what.
