No such thing. Legitimate federal functions are what the people say they are.

Incorrect. The U.S. Constitution grants powers to the federal government. Powers not granted to the federal government in the US Constitution are not legitimate federal functions.

Democracy. Rule of the people, by the people, and for the people.

The United States is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic. There is a difference. And the difference is important.

"Democracy. Rule of the people, by the people, and for the people"

Except when it comes to gay rights, abortion, and taking private property, then it's run to court and screw democracy.
