There is broad disagreement about Obama's actual net worth as he has refused to disclose the actual figure giving only a broad range of from $2.6 to $12 Million. So, we don't know the actual numbers -- but it is a safe bet it is toward the high end of that range. As you've pointed out there is some $6 million in cash & equivalents. In addition, however, there is real estate valued well in excess of a million dollars, there is the royalty interest in his books -- which is certain in the millions. While he refused to provide exact figures in his disclosure, his tax return does reflect approximately $500K in income from book royalties, which would undoubtedly represent a few million in net worth when one discounts the the stream of revenue from future royalties (which is the correct way of handling it for determining net worth). His short term treasury obligations appear to be in the area of 2.8 Million, perhaps more. We don't know how much in longer term instruments he may hold. I also don't see any mention of his SEP/Keogh in your list which ought to be in the range of a half million or more (I'm not willing to go back and look at his past returns to see). I would say he's much closer to 12M than 6M. Whether it goes over 12 M you just can't tell without more disclosure.
