It is a nice song but is smoking dope really the solution? We have 46% of Americans believing that the earth is 6000 years old. We have Christians using tragedies to try to bring the vulnerable into the superstitious fold for comfort and meaning. Evolution is to blame, they say, because it keeps people from the Christian world view and the standards of God (the same God who could have prevented these tragedies, they fail to point out). So what if that 46% of people who distrust Reason and Science becomes 56%?? What then?? The alien invasion might be very important, but what are you suggesting we do about it?? The attack against Science and the teaching of Science in our schools is something we CAN do something about. Because Freedom is NOT a given. It can be taken from you in a flash. You see how desperately many politicians want the church and the state to cozy up and sleep together. And when the Church commands, Freedom dies a quick death. Just ask 17 centuries of homo sapiens about how much free will exists under the Tyranny of Superstition??
