The assault weapon ban actually did reduce the numbers killed with this type of weapon. It's obvious you know nothing about the AWB or guns in general. The AWB only made it illegal to have more than 3 of 5 features on a gun at the same time. Generally this meant the manufacturer dropped the collapsible stock and the bayonet lug. Also the sale of new magazines over 10 rounds was banned, however used 30 round magazines imported from Canada and other countries were available in every gun shop for about $10 each. Yes - you are the one of the ignorant masses of libtards that supports this feel good useless piece of legislation. PS: The DC snipers rifle was AWB compliant and it didn't really do much good and he only fired one round at a time.
