As long as our government allows criminals to purchase, possess and sell assault weapons, there isn't an argument to be made against a citizen possessing them. The individual who committed the crimes at that movie theater was capable of burning the building down with all exits blocked or some other building. He could have poisoned thousands. Your stupid bandaid approach does nothing. If you banned shotguns there definitely would be a reduction in the use of shotguns to commit crimes. Maybe you believe we should ban all guns? That would leave only the criminals to possess them. This person was very sick. An elitist to be sure. We will learn more about him as time passes.
