In the beginning it was all about using fear and mystery (ignorance) to consolidate the Tribe. Of course, there has always been more than one tribe! AND...there are only so many skins and only so much meat on a hind quarter! So from the first (and continuing with 35,000 Christian sects--and thousands and thousands of others)...the "unity" has always implied (and resulted in)...Chosen Peoples! We have found the answer to all that primitive tribal ignorance in Science and Humanism. But how do you prevent superstitious ignorants from raising up their kids as Superstitious Ignorants? This is the problem. They have no moral restrictions on how they create a "Chosen People" world. They have no support for human rights outside of their own Superstitious "guides" from a primitive bronze age. Look at how some people avoid commenting on the fate of homosexuals were those Christian sects to have their way! EEeeek!!
