Well, that's reality. If you don't enroll in Medicare, you have no option to have health insurance. And you don't get your SS money you paid in back. Both really dumb ideas.

If someone who is wealthy wants to opt out of Medicare, he really cannot just go buy insurance. If he is working aged or has other coverage from a job, that can still get him the services that physicians won't provide to Medicare patients. But basically, for most people, the system guarantees that into the future, as more physicians drop out of Medicare, everyone will be subjected to the lesser quality of care that will be provided to Medicare patients, even if they could afford to pay for premium services.
