I agree with all your premises, but not the conclusion. I have no current position in Barrick (so I have no personal stake in its price movements,) and I wish you luck if you decide to short it.

My point was only that, if you intend to capitalize on the near term weakness in gold, there are probably other companies out there, more exposed to the fall of bullion prices. (There are gold mining companies that choose not to hedge their production.) I make this point on the basis of fundamental analysis, only. I know absolutely nothing of TA in general, or ABX's chart in particular.

Good luck. I will continue to have no position in ABX, for the foreseeable future.
