a good/fair multiplex wall is 5 courses of 5/8 inch drywall. Usually a 12 inch wall, either two separate stud walls or a staggered stud wall. With 3 courses of drywall on one side and two on the other with 6-12 inches of fiberglass woven through/around the metal studs.

so 5 courses with an air pocket and 12 inches or so of fiberglass. Did the Threatre owner cheat on the walls ?
