I almost bit at some ABB but will wait as I believe it will sell off along with the rest of the market. It is a value at current levels (even w/ their recent diluted acquisition). For now, it is more emotional & fear that I am moving on rather than true value. Good buy hope I can follow you in on that one.

FWIW I would never touch any of the too big banks as I believe they are "black boxes" and too hard for me to evaluate based on their 10K reports. Their reported TBV and/or assets are not accurate IMO and many of the off balance sheet items (including derivatives) are not accounted for including their mark to market loans (just ask Mad Harry about the derivative accounting). How do you quantify their exposure to Spain and Italy.

I may be bias as I believe all the European Banks are bankrupt:

A new report by the International Labor Organization (ILO) says the eurozone is in danger of losing 4.5 million jobs over the next four years, unless it changes its current economic policies.
Good luck w/ that trade it could end up as a good swing trade.

FWIW I own C in the IRA before the reverse split w/ a cost basis of around $250/share based on the current shares outstanding...ouch! To me it's a value trap and their reporting is all fiction.

sold ORKLY @9.79$ in my IRA, I am keeping my position in taxable accounts for now. I don't know the reason for the ~7% jump today; trading on the main exchange in Oslo was very quiet. I think this stock has approached fair value.

ABB. I'll average up a little on my few shares, looking to hold 3-5 years.

Good prospects for its business here --- although I'm not confident they are enough to move the stock significantly: finance.yahoo.com
